How to disable USB drive in your PC

Sometimes we need to stop the USB service to our PC due to some security or other issues. We can disable USB drive of our PC without use any software. You just need to follow the below steps:

1. Please write REGEDIT to Run command and press Enter.
2. Perform double click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder
3. Again double click on System folder
4. Make a double click on CurrentControlSet folder
5. Then find the Services folder and perform a double click on this folder.
6. Now make a double click on USBSTOR folder.

The Path is  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> System -> CurrentControlSet -> Services -> USBSTOR

Some options will be visible to the right site window.You need to perform a right click to Start. You will view menu with some options. You need to click on Modify...

The edit window will be open to modify the data. You need to edit the value data to 4 from 3 and click on the OK button to save the change.

 

Now close the window and finally restart your PC; People cannot use USB to your PC after the reboot of windows. 

How to reduce the BOOT time of Windows OS.

We need to start our PC daily. We have faced problem about BOOT time of the PC. Some PC takes longer to boot. But there are many ways to reduce PC boot time.  It is possible for the users who has a Dual Core or above configuration PC.

Please follow the below steps:
1. Type msconfig on Run and press enter. A window will be opened and you need to select Boot tab.

2. Now click to the Advanced Options button to open the BOOT Advance Option window.

3. Now check the Number of processors option and select the number of processor of your PC as like 2 for Dual core.  Finally click on OK button to save the changes.

After that windows needs a restart to apply the change. Now your PC will boot fast.  

Basic function of the Function Keys of any Keyboard

There are twelve (12) function keys from F1 to F12 are available in any keyboard. Most of the computer users are fused about the function of the function keys. I've described some basic function of the function keys in below.

• F1 key is working as a booster key. F1 opens Help of any program.
• F2 key is used to Rename any file or folder. [Alt+Ctrl+F2] is used to open New file in Microsoft Word. [Ctrl+F2] displays the Print Preview of word document.
• F3 key is used to open Search function on Windows and other programs. [Shift+F3] is used to convert UPPER case word to lower case.
• F4 key is used to Repeat the last performed action in Microsoft Word. [Alt+F4] is used to Close programs. [Ctrl+F4] is used to close active windows.
• F5 key is used for Refresh windows, browsers etc. F5 starts the power point slide slow. Also this is used open the Find, Replace, Go window. F5 is also used to execute query in SQL Server.
• F6 key is used to highlight the address bar of browser.  [Ctrl+Shift+F6] is used to activated the next opened word document.
• F7 key is used for spelling and grammar check of word document. It is used to start the Create browsing function of Mozilla Firefox. [Shift+F7] is used to open the dictionary function of any word.
• F8 key is used for start windows in Safe Mode.
• F9 key is used to open the measurement toolbar of Quark Express.
• F10 key is used to select the Menu bar of open windows or browsers. [Shift+F10] is used as a replacement of the right button click of any link.
• F11 key is used to maximize the web browser in full screen and restore.
• F12 key is used for the Save As function of Microsoft Word. [Shift+F12] is used to save word documents. [Ctrl+Shift+F12] is used to Print of any word document.
